How Trump Will Win the GOP by Losing the Presidency — Nick Licata


This post is about the institutional procedures remaining to elect the president. Congress has to ratify the vote of the Electoral College, which voted unanimously for Joe Biden on Dec. 14. The Congressional vote comes on Jan. 6.

Most American voters were probably not aware of the institutional complexity before this election and many foreign observers likely regard the process as somewhat bizarre.

While Nick Licata is a progressive, his presentation of the institutional arrangements involved to complete the electoral process is straightforward.
