TASS — Putin says Internet can destroy society if it does not follow moral guidelines

"We have had a lot of discussions about certain restrictions on the Internet, but the Internet has already penetrated every sphere of our lives and for the most part, it should follow not only formal laws and legal rules, but the moral guidelines of society that we live in as well," Putin said. "Otherwise, society will destroy itself from within," he stressed.

The president said that he wants the majority of citizens to understand this danger for the country’s future. "Because if there isn’t such a thing, they will stir things up for us from the inside," he said.…
China figured this out long ago.

  1. It's said that the internet makes smart people smarter and dumb people dumber.

As an aside, everyone has their favorite theory about the "number of the Beast", i.e. 666. This is mine:

In gematria, which is a big thing in scripture, both in the Bible and the Qur'an, the number "666" translates into "www". Yes, that's the internet. And as the articles stated, the internet has changed everything.

Every society has its share of idiots. If a country wants to harm another country, it can reach those idiots and cause them to attack their own country.

By the way, did you hear about that woman who lived next to a 5G base station and now her body is riddled with cancer? No? That's because I just made it up. But if I put it on the internet with some random photo of a woman with cancer, I can convince people to go out and burn down 5G base stations. The kind of thing a country might do to harm another country's business interests.

Things perceived as real are real in their consequences.

  2. It's said that censorship inevitably leads to violence.

Don't mistake censorship for feigned concerned about lawlessness.

  3. I'm all agog to know what "moral principles" Putin has in mind: trying to assassinate political opponents perhaps?......:-)

  5. It’s the old - when people are disgruntled they look for all kinds of answers. And internet becomes their friend.
These power people always look away from the real problem and want one “truth” only to be heard.
