Historical back grounder of German right-wing violence, again arising not only in Germany.
Use of the swastika as an Indian religious symbol did not originate with the Nazi party. It was in use by right-wing German forces previously and later brought into service again by the Nazis.

The Germans first honed their extermination skills in southwest Africa and in Turkey (against Armenians and Greeks) before turning on the Jews.
ReplyDeleteYou know — practice makes perfect.
Trivia: after WW2, an American government official ( sorry, I can’t recall his name; famous name of Jewish heritage) suggested that all of Germany be turned into a potato plantation. Pity it wasn’t implemented.
Was probably Morgathau...
ReplyDeleteiirc in a biographical book on FDR I read allegedly he said he wanted all Germans to be eating out of US Army soup kitchens for TWO years...
ReplyDeleteAt Yalta when Stalin said he wanted 50,000 German officers shot Churchill was horrified but FDR joked something like “maybe only 49,000”...
Where's Friedrich?
ReplyDeleteMatt,
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you knew this or not.
On 12 October 1990, at the age of 48, Schäuble was the target of an assassination attempt by Dieter Kaufmann, who fired three shots at him after an election campaign event attended by about 300 people in Oppenau. Kaufmann injured a bodyguard, and severely injured Schäuble's spinal cord and face.
Schäuble was left paralysed from the attack and has used a wheelchair ever since.
Yes I did know that I believe he is wheelchair bound now...
ReplyDeleteHe still doesn’t get a pass...
ReplyDeleteIt was Tehran ( which should be a nuclear wasteland now...) :
ReplyDeletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehran_Conference
“ Stalin proposed executing 50,000–100,000 German officers so that Germany could not plan another war. Roosevelt, believing Stalin was not serious, joked that "maybe 49,000 would be enough".
Don’t forget:
ReplyDeletehttps://ww2today.com/28th-july-1943-hamburg-is-devastated-by-a-firestorm
“ Trees three feet thick were broken off or uprooted, human beings were thrown to the ground or flung alive into the flames by winds which exceeded a hundred. and fifty miles an hour. The panic-stricken citizens knew not where to turn. Flames drove them from the shelters, but high-explosive bombs sent them scurrying back again.
Once inside, they were suffocated by carbon monoxide poisoning and their bodies reduced to ashes as though they had been placed in a crematorium, which was indeed what each shelter proved to be. The fortunate were those who jumped into the canals and waterways and remained swimming or standing up to their necks in water for hours until the heat should die down.”
All engineered... but they started it remember.., same for Japan... so US gets a free pass..
9/11 was a real lost opportunity for justified killing..,
ReplyDeleteWe could have killed AT LEAST 100M people in MENA in response to 9/11.., AT LEAST..,
ReplyDeletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties
ReplyDelete“ An estimated total of 70–85 million people perished, or about 3% of the 1940 world population (est. 2.3 billion).[1] Deaths directly caused by the war (including military and civilians fatalities) are estimated at 50–56 million, with an additional estimated 19–28 million deaths from war-related disease and famine.”
We could have easily justifiably exceeded that... Id say 100m at least..,
But ofc we didn’t..,
And LOL you morons all have your panties ina bind over the handful killed..,
Bit unfair to concentrate on Germans. E.g. Islamists in Mozambique are beheading people by the hundreds right now, and forcing tens of thousands to flee their homes for fear of being killed. And the British Empire wasn't exactly a pacifist movement.
