Zero Hedge quoted an Israeli study that said,
'This Ends The Debate' - Israeli Study Shows Natural Immunity 13x More Effective Than Vaccines At Stopping Delta
Except, I might add, with millions dead in the process, and with millions more going through the misery of Covid-19, plus others left with long covid.
It's a no brainer, get a jab, and if this research is correct and you get Covid, it will boost your immunity further. This research changes nothing.
A vaccine, or this. Ted Nugent on his Covid infection. He thought he was dying!
One person has been said to have died from a blood clot in the brain from a vaccine, but Covid kills even more through blood clots. They are looking at the spike protein, but it could be that the vaccine is entering the blood stream and not the muscle, so they are looking into that too, which is easy to put right. The Sputnik vaccine is not associated with blood clots yet.
I don't know what all the fuss is about, as there are better things to fight for your freedoms over rather than a vaccine that is far more safer than covid itself.
ZDoggMD says people are right to ask questions about the vaccines, but he explains why you should still get one.
72 people have died from blood clots to the brain caused by the vaccine in the UK alone.
ReplyDelete"Up to 18 August 2021, the MHRA had received Yellow Card reports of 417 cases of major thromboembolic events (blood clots) with concurrent thrombocytopenia (low platelet counts) in the UK following vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca. Forty four of the 417 reports have been reported after a second dose. Of the 417 reports, 210 occurred in women, and 203 occurred in men aged from 18 to 93 years. The overall case fatality rate was 17% with 72 deaths, six of which occurred after the second dose.
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis was reported in 149 cases (average age 46 years) and 268 had other major thromboembolic events (average age 54 years) with concurrent thrombocytopenia. The estimated number of first doses of COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca administered in the UK by 18 August was 24.8 million and the estimated number of second doses was 23.9 million."

Time to stop listening to gurus and do the maths.
ReplyDeleteNatural immunity is superior to vaccine immunity. However comparing the two is comparing apples and pears.
To get natural immunity you have to have already survived Covid. Which means it only helps you against the second infection.
A vaccinated pension will be protected by natural immunity against the second infection as well - because the vaccine doesn't really stop you getting Covid. It just reduces the symptoms massively. As it stands you will eventually get Covid.
The correct comparison is a vaccinated pension getting Covid the first time, vs an unvaccinated person getting Covid for the first time.
And there the evidence is very clear. Even taking into account the illnesses triggered by the vaccine the overall outcome after the first infection favours the vaccinated person massively - certainly for anybody over the age of about 30 - if the Israeli data is to be believed.

Given what information we have the best strategy is to vaccinate everybody we can, then let the virus run so we can build up sterilising immunity in the young.
Here is the plan for Nova Scotia - article from August 23rd:
ReplyDeleteN.S. targets Sept. 15 to begin Phase 5, tightens N.B. border
"It's time to start living more with COVID," Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia's chief medical officer of health, said alongside Premier-designate Tim Houston in a briefing Monday afternoon.
Phase 5 is contingent upon 75 per cent of the population having two doses of vaccine. As of Friday, 69.2 per cent of Nova Scotians had received a second dose.
Mandatory COVID-19 rules to be lifted
This final phase has been described as the new normal of living with COVID-19, including the end of mandatory masking and physical distancing.
While Strang said removing restrictions does not mean COVID-19 is gone, it means Nova Scotia's vaccination rates are high enough that people can start living safely with the virus.
It is only a matter of time until the fourth wave reaches the province, Strang said, so people should expect to see cases rise eventually and possible small outbreaks in unvaccinated groups.

It edged out Supernova Scotia.
