Magpie — Australia’s Back-Stabbing Diplomacy.
The US, UK, Canada, and Australia are circling the wagons and everyone else is outside the circle.
In addition, Australia just pained a big target on itself for China's missiles. Strategic brilliance.
Well, based on the article and Canada's choice NOT to participate in AUKUS, if seems that Canada is NOT part of the wagon-circling process, a return to the pacifistic tendencies of Trudeau's father.
Remember when Canada bought some used subs from the Brits? Sweet deal that was, including the electrical fire that broke out during its maiden voyage. No refunds, said the Brits.
Remember when we sold India nuclear reactors for peaceful purposes?
In 1974, India exploded a nuclear weapon that it had produced with plutonium made from the CANDU heavy water reactors sold by Canada. Canada had insisted that part of the deal be that the technology could be used only for peaceful purposes and not for nuclear explosions, but after the bomb was detonated India claimed that the plutonium had been used for a “peaceful nuclear explosion.”
