Art Degree morons running everything…
Figurative:
One of the hottest real-estate markets right now is in the metaverse, where property sales in digital worlds like Sandbox and Decentraland are setting records https://t.co/QKfw4HiCSF

Literal:
Figurative looks fantastic! Literal though not looking too good… way to go Art Degree morons! 😂
Fantastical looks fantastic. Figurative is supposed to resemble the real thing in some way. I'm thinking zombie apocalypse video games are still figurative... but not for much longer!
ReplyDeleteLooked at from a higher perspective, the literal is also figurative. Everything you see in this world is a metaphor of something in a higher world, and is a ladder to that world. That higher world is known in Islam as the malakut, equivalent to the Hebrew malkuth. Here is a snippet from the Sufi theologian Al-Ghazali:
ReplyDelete...phenomenal world is a ladder (mirqat) to the world of the malakut
The same idea is known by the Jewish Kabbalists. Here are a couple of quotes from articles in the Times of Israel:
The Rebbe explained. Mere mortals who live on a physical plain must work backward, and when we see something in this material world, we try to understand its spiritual counterpart, its underlying deep down, and source energy. Holy people who live on a spiritual realm, seeing what exists there, know for sure there must be this manifestation in its corresponding physical expression.
As a student of Chassidic and Kabbalistic philosophy, I have always studied that whatever exists in the physical realm/world must exist in the spiritual realm. In fact, the exact teaching is that because it exists in the spiritual it, therefore, finds its way down and manifests in some way on terra firma. —American rabbi Yakov Saacks
Incidentally, it is the vision of the malakut which grants certainty.
And thus We showed Abraham the malakut of the heavens and the earth, so that he might be of those who have certainty. —Qur'an 6:75

The higher world is inhabited by gurus, clerics, academics and the work-shy.
ReplyDelete“ Looked at from a higher perspective, the literal is also figurative.”
ReplyDeleteAhmed I get it…
But we’re not going to get people to that level of consciousness without fixing the literal in material terms FIRST…
Old American wives tale: “when the money is gone love flies out the window…”
Gotta get the material systems humming THEN there will be time to ponder more profound matters…
Art Degree morons really holding us back on all levels…
"Art Degree morons really holding us back on all levels…"
ReplyDeleteI dunno, I got in early and was able to pick up a virtual brothel way, way below current market prices :)
lol I saw in the news one of these (alleged) real estate parcels go for $2.4M …
ReplyDeletemoron Bernie Sanders probably thinks we should tax virtual real estate to get some munnie to give homeless to buy a new tent…
