How the Nature/Nurture Debate is Changing

Epigenetics is the key, where the way our genes express themselves is heavily influenced by the environment.

Poverty deeply affects how children develop.

Neoliberalism can stress many families because of the long hours put in by the parents and the low pay which creates financial difficulties.

  2. Biology departments still polluted with too many Art Degree people…

If differing levels of human experienced stress causes differing levels of secretions then there will be different chemical reaction effecting protein chemical synthesis…

Why the constant need for the figurative anthropomorphism?

Why can’t these people just stick with the science? (Because they DONT HAVE SCIENCE DEGREES)

    ie UN qualified….

  4. “Together, transcription and translation are known as gene expression. During the process of transcription, the information stored in a gene's DNA is passed to a similar molecule called RNA (ribonucleic acid) in the cell nucleus. Both RNA and DNA are made up of a chain of building blocks called nucleotides, but they have slightly different chemical properties. The type of RNA that contains the information for making a protein is called messenger RNA (mRNA) because it carries the information, or message, from the DNA out of the nucleus into the cytoplasm.”

Hey we can probably eventually develop an mRNA vaccine to reduce the negative psychological effects of poverty…. make munnie!

  5. Well these two back-to-back, good old-fashioned snowstorms, with blistering cold temperatures hovering around -30 celsius, was a snow-ball-in-your-face reminder to me and my genes that this place Montreal is not God's land :(

    Have you heard of botulism?

  8. “ Botulism (“BOT-choo-liz-um”) is a rare but serious illness caused by a toxin that attacks the body’s nerves and causes difficulty breathing, muscle paralysis, and even death. This toxin is made by Clostridium botulinum and sometimes Clostridium butyricum and Clostridium baratii bacteria.”

  11. Ok … “unqualified”…

    un·qual·i·fied
    /ˌənˈkwäləˌfīd/
    Learn to pronounce
    adjective
    adjective: unqualified
    1.
(of a person) not officially recognized as a practitioner of a particular profession or activity through having satisfied the relevant conditions or requirements.
"no company would permit an unqualified accountant to audit its books"

Now show me the common ancestor protein compounds of the protein compound in Thailand and of the protein compound in China…
