  1. Belarus orders some Ukrainian diplomats to leave the country, nation's news agency reports

Belarus is ordering some Ukrainian diplomats to leave the country and will shut down Ukraine's consulate in the city of Brest, the nation's Belta news agency has reported.

The move comes after the Belarusian security service, accused eight diplomats of espionage.

Earlier today, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Belarus was still enabling Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

He told a news conference on the eve of a NATO summit in Brussels that Belarus had also allowed its military airfields to
be used by Russian forces to launch attacks on Ukrainian cities
    and civilians.

Belarus is the only European country that has supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine by allowing Russian troops to enter across its border.

Kremlin threatens NATO over 'extremely dangerous' peacekeeping forces.

  2. In short ....

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg reeks of hypocrisy.

You can smell it off him.

  3. The decision made at the NATO meeting tomorrow might go down as the biggest mistake made in human history.

Let's all hope the wise heads with a backbone are in the room.

However, watching Biden and Pelosi and Harris the meeting does have a Dr. Strangelove feel about it.

  4. There are two important factors in Russia demanding payment for commodity sales in the national currency. First, it increases demand for the currency and strengthens the currency in the market. Secondly, the payments occur in the issuer's payments system and stay in the issuing country, that is, are under the control of the issuing country.

Many do not understand this and cannot figure why Russia did not bring the dollars or euro home. Given existing institutional arrangements that is ruled out. Anyone conversant in MMT knows this but many so-called experts apparently don't.

What is generally not recognized is that foreign reserves denominated in a foreign currency stay on the books of the issuing country, unless, of course, they are converted to cash and exported, which is impractical in the large amounts involved in major transactions.

This is why China and Japan hold large balances of US Treasuries. Rather than leave the reserves they accumulate through trade in their 'demand deposit account" at the Fed, they put the funds in a "time savings account" in the form of US debt that pays higher interest, which comparable to individuals saving at a commercial bank using CDs.

So if Russia sells commodities for USD or EUR, those funds remain in the Fed or ECB, where they can be frozen or confiscated.

Note: This needs to be qualified by Eurodollars, which are time deposits denominated in USD held outside the US and not subject to regulation by the Fed.

For a guy only weeks ago who was going to turn off the mainstream media because of lying all the time.

To now believing the mainstream media about the war.

Is an incredible turn of events.

His so called " take" on the war is a million miles away from reality.
