Mostly about economic consequences of sanctions. Somewhat speculative about the future, but it brings up the point made here at MNE previously that thinking through the consequences of something as far reaching as sanctions is difficult since there are so many known unknowns and probably many unknown unknowns regarding the dynamic of the world system•, which is both complicated (subject to chaos) and also complex (subject to emergence). So this is an "evolving situation" likely fraught with challenges for all involved — blocs, regions, nations, public and private entities, people. This will result in unforeseen division over competing interests and lead to further conflicts among various parties. Economics being foundational, effects are social and political as well.
