Hard To Swallow Pills (I started to figure this out when I was about 25 and serving as a naval officer in the Western Pacific when Vietnam was heating up. I had already begun to figure it out but it was the Gulf of Tonkin false flag that really woke me up. As matters became clear, I felt betrayed. Nixon's election on a false promise and subsequent perfidy blasted away all remaining illusions.)

Nasrallah: The war in Ukraine unmasked the racism and hypocrisy of the West (This was evident to me during Vietnam. It was also evident in Korea, but I was too young at the time to catch more than the drift through hearing racist language about the North Koreans coming from veterans of the conflict. It was also pretty clear about the Japanese from the war films of the time. I also became aware of this domestically as a child from New England on trips through the the segregated South on US 1 before the interstates, as well as the de facto segregation in housing. The rhetoric did not match the behavior.)

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar: India Has Concerns About U.S. Human Rights Record (India follows China in criticizing US human rights record. China and India comprise almost 3 billion people and are two of the fastest growing economies on the planet. Has the US bite off more than it cash chew in bullying them?)

  2. @ Tom,

When did you learn about Japanese internment during WWII?
Did that seem reasonable to you?

  3. I don’t recall when I learned of that but at the time I did, I recall thinking it was racist since the same was not applied to the populations of the other Axis powers that were in the US.

There were repercussions of being German or even German-speaking. My mother's family were German-speaking Austrian immigrants and my wife's father's family were German-speaking Swiss that belonged to a church where services were conducted in German. They all stopped speaking German. That struck me as bizarre and still does.

The attempt to cancel Russian culture now recalls it. Insane.
