Russia will strengthen the grouping of troops on the Finnish border if Finland joins NATO, - head of the Federation Council Committee on Defense Bondarev.
ReplyDeleteNo one should have any illusions that the Russian Federation will simply put up with the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO,Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.
"This is a mistake with far—reaching consequences," he stressed.
How exactly Moscow will ensure security in the event of Helsinki and Stockholm joining NATO depends on the situation.
All about first strike nuclear response times.

Woke hypocrisy?
All about first strike nuclear response times.
ReplyDeleteSo move the ground base launchers to Russia's far east. Problem solved, but for these nutters who believe a nuclear war can be "won".
"for these nutters who believe a nuclear war can be "won"."
ReplyDeleteThat is another main issue they are psychos.
You move to the far East and The narrowest distance between mainland Russia and mainland Alaska is approximately 55 miles.

ReplyDeleteWhat I posted up yesterday. why I Went down the white supremacist route.
Rightly or wrongly take your pick. They now believe MAGA gives them a voice. They believe Trump speaks for them.
It is no coincidence most of these groups who arm themselves and give themselves a fancy name and have training camps in America are from the right to far right. Consider themselves as modern day militias.
The other lot think the democrats speak for them.
ReplyDeleteThey can waltz into a subway shoot people hand themselves in just to get their point across.
When neither MAGA or the Democrats and Republicans speak for any of them. They use these groups to divide America to its core to harvest their votes.
MAGA, Democrats and Republicans represent one group. The leisure class and capital.
Then you have the Church.
ReplyDeleteWorld experts with hundreds of years experience at creating divisions for power.
Built on the back of the biggest fairy tale of them all.
ReplyDeleteA fairy tale created by humans.
You wonder why economics is difficult for the majority to grasp. Wonder why they can't understand how money works when they believe just about any fairy tale put in front of them if it is done with a good story and in a co ordinated fashion.
If you want to talk about art degree thinking let's start with the Church. let's See where it leads us. If you think economics is bad hold onto your hats. Organised religion will be one helluva ride.
Google says:
ReplyDeleteThe distance between Vladivostok and Alaska is 5241 km.
The distance between Europe and Vladivostok is 8143 km.
Solves the 'nuked from Europe' problem.
Most people want to go to heaven.
ReplyDeleteFairy tale, but it sounds like a great place to be.
Faith and good behavior will get you there, the church promises.
More or less all Christendom is dialogic/Platonist….
ReplyDeleteALL disciplines taught under that methodology are…
You don’t get a Science Degree in Theology…
The distance from Vladivostok to Nova Scotia is 10,073 km.
ReplyDeleteWhich means we get to live a few minutes longer.
“World experts with hundreds of years experience at creating divisions for power.“
ReplyDeleteThey are not “creating divisions “ they are proposing antithesis to established thesis…
If the antithesis is widely believed then those people form a new sect…
Google is wrong
ReplyDeletehttps://www.alaskacenters.gov/visitors-centers/faqs/how-close-alaska-russia
The narrowest distance between mainland Russia and mainland Alaska is approximately 55 miles. However, in the body of water between Alaska and Russia, known as the Bering Strait, there lies two small islands known as Big Diomede and Little Diomede. Interestingly enough, Big Diomede is owned by Russia while Little Diomede is owned by the US. The stretch of water between these two islands is only about 2.5 miles wide and actually freezes over during the winter so you could technically walk from the US to Russia on this seasonal sea ice.
Russia will show you how they are going to solve their Finland problem.
ReplyDeleteBondarev and Sergey Ryabkov have virtually spelled it out for everybody.
I'm going to take a punt on at least 2 people having some brains in Washington that have real power.
ReplyDeleteAfter the meetings of NATO in Madrid the press release after the meetings will say.
" Not at this time, we will consider both Sweden's and Finland application at a later date"
Those 2 people in Washington how has an IQ above room temperature will have saved the planet from complete destruction.
If that is going to happen.
ReplyDeleteRunning up to the meetings in Madrid the press will start walking it back. Preparing everybody for the press release.
On the other hand if they are all crazy in Washington and both Sweden and Finland are accepted into NATO.
Well all bets are off.
"They are not “creating divisions “ they are proposing antithesis to established thesis…
ReplyDeleteIf the antithesis is widely believed then those people form a new sect…"
fancy words for division Matt.
If you read Scottish History long before the United States was invented. It was all about power and money.
The Outer and Inner Hebrides are small islands that have 20 versions of the same faith.
Nothing to do with religion or If the antithesis is widely believed then those people form a new sect as you put it.
It was all about power and a new version of the Church was created by a landlord or after a fight about power within the Church. A licence to print money or in most cases to nudge the flock to what the landlords wanted to do politically.
The Church was one of the very first " nudging " units ever created.
Who should we vote for father ?
What do you think of these highland clearances father ?
Should we support this king or Queen father ?
All of Scotland was built using these principles
ReplyDeleteI used the Hebrides as an example because it is small the number of divisions preaching the exact same faith is ridiculous.
It was all about power and who could frame and create the narrative.
Religion was used to explain away the building of a new church a mile away instead of the truth. The new church being built a mile away was being built because those who wanted power was sidelined in the previous Church.
Nothing to do with scripture or gospal. Money and power was the reason behind the division.
What do you think of the landlord who built the Church and who has just put out rents up father ?
ReplyDeleteSo move the ground base launchers to Russia's far east. Problem solved, but for these nutters who believe a nuclear war can be "won".
ReplyDeleteICBM silo are already in far eastern Russia and they have mobile (truck and rail transported) launchers.
Then there are the submarines and bombers.
Russia has a trident, too.
@ Tom
ReplyDeleteWhat's the security issue then?
MAD remains intact, regardless of facilities built next to Russia's borders.
Time to face the fact that there won't be a European security agreement on Russia's terms. That plan has backfired. Finland is an example of a successful neutral country agreement, and they want to jettison it.
Stick to the plan of protecting Russians in eastern Ukraine from conventional weapons.
As for humanity in general, time to face the fact we can't prevent warmongers from destroying the world, when they wrongly believe they can win, or wrongly believe they alone are facing an existential crisis.
@ Peter Pan
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to create a situation that induces MAD, and especially not as a first response. This is why there used to be rule not to create conditions for war with a nuclear-capable power, let alone a nuclear peer.
There is such a rule, but it is flexible.
ReplyDeleteObviously, an invasion of a nuclear power is a red line that can't be crossed. But you can still mess with nuclear powers, from killing their soldiers to shelling their civilians for years on end. The intention is to escalate, cause attrition, or both.
MAD is a deterrent to conquest.
We either stick with that doctrine, or get wrecked.
To use an analogy, MAD is not a Swiss army knife with multiple functions.
ReplyDeleteNorth Korea's rulers understand that their nuclear deterrent doesn't allow them to invade the South. The sole function of NK nukes is to preserve the Kim Dynasty.
