- President Joe Biden is now vowing to “consult with Congress” on ways to “reduce OPEC’s control over energy prices,”.
- A change in U.S. anti-trust law could revoke immunity that has protected OPEC members against lawsuits.
- The EU idea of forming a buyers cartel to counter high oil prices is getting more support.

The Radical Plans To Counter High Oil Prices

The radical plans to counter high oil prices
ReplyDeleteThe plans are a waste of time, since they do not include anything that would actually work…
[1] End the boycott of Venezuelan oil and cheap Russian energy
[2] End the economic war on all nations that are not part of the Empire
[3] End the ban on domestic oil extraction
[4] End “climate change” fanaticism so we can explore alternative energy sources in a rational manner
[5] End the doomed campaign to dominate the whole world
Without these, any U.S. attack on OPEC will backfire. It will simply bring more OPEC retaliation.
Incidentally Biden only has to worry about oil prices for the next 32 days. If Republicans win control of the House and / or Senate on Nov 8th, then Democrats can blame Republicans for high oil prices.
ReplyDelete(Even though the current Democrat-controlled congress will not end until 3 Jan 2023).
Nothing inherently wrong with high oil prices.
ReplyDeleteCanada is an oil seller. We don't have to be in OPEC to benefit...
ReplyDeleteYou benefit off the high monopoly prices…
ReplyDeleteAs does Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alaska, California, Arkansas…
Best time for US oil buyers was under Trump when he opened up US domestic production and allowed exporting so US producers had the export channel as a place to get rid of excess production …
We had gasoline under $2 at the pump…
Now under Brandon it’s the opposite…
Really what we should do is outlaw opec … just declare opec illegal and if CIA detects any cartel activity out there launch the cruise missiles the next day and wipe them out…
ReplyDeleteYour non-OPEC monopoly price gouger to the north chooses to remain silent.
ReplyDeleteYou should because you benefit from it..,well maybe not you personally but your nation as a whole benefits from the higher prices the monopoly swing producer sets.,,
ReplyDeleteCanada is not a member of opec+ neither is Texas, etc.,,
ReplyDeleteSo you would be off the target list..,
But we should be looking at disappearing OPEC+ nations…
Neutron bombs just kill the people but leave the real property in tact..,
