Bill Mitchell — The pandemic has caused fundamental shifts in worker behaviour

Jeff Beck has died! A masterful musician. Very sad. We move on. I read an interesting research paper recently – “The Great Retirement Boom”: The Pandemic-Era Surge in Retirements and Implications for Future Labor Force Participation – published in the US Federal Reserve Bank’s Finance and Economics Discussion Series (released November 2022), which illustrates how the pandemic is altering the behaviour of the US labour market. The lessons from the US are relevant everywhere as governments progressively ignore the reality that a dangerous virus is still in our midst and still causing havoc (deaths, long-term disability and more). For those who are continuing to claim the pandemic is some sort of conspiracy to control us or that Covid is less dangerous than influenza or that mask wearing is redundant and all the rest of the nonsense that seems to perpetrated by some on the Left who think they are for ‘freedom’ and those on the Right who just care about profits, this sort of research should presents a serious wake up call....

  1. When it comes to the big issues, Bill Mitchell is a coward. All cause mortality data is no conspiracy.

  2. I know more than a few people who took retirement or early retirement (if it was available) due to Covid…

Most had other comorbidities or immune compromised and didn’t want the daily exposure …

I would also say that my personal behavior and consumption patterns have been modified too… won’t go back to my old gym (too crowded) … wife and I rarely eat in a restaurant anymore and never in a crowded restaurant … doing more outdoor activities… etc..,

  3. Pete otoh Bannon had this wall st quant on who is looking at mortality seems the life insurers are losing munnie and are getting pissed:

    https://rumble.com/v255tgf-ed-dowd-narrative-shift-to-epidemic-of-sudden-death-caused-by-climate-chang.html

But the guy says the data shows there is significant excess mortality in people who are working vs people not working…

  4. The life insurance actuaries picked up a 40% increase in working age men death claims starting after the vaccine roll out. Working men are the typical life insurance buyers. Ed Dowd is the guy who's been all over this. Something is not right say the actuaries.

  5. A change of narrative could be the cure that Bill Mitchell needs.

  6. I should note that I'm triple-vaxxed and had Covid a few months back. Two weeks of violent coughing and another two weeks of mild coughing, so a month of coughing in total. I'm going for my bivalent vaccine next week. Having said that...

    Why Has Covid Spared Africa?

There's a YouTube video in the link above. The important part is a couple of minutes, starting at about the 4-minute mark.

In the video above, John Campbell, Ph.D., a retired nurse educator, compares the contradictions between the World Health Organization’s directives regarding the need for COVID shots in Africa and the actual situation on the ground.

Scientists are said to be “mystified” as to how Africa fared so well, completely ignoring data showing that the more COVID shots you get, the higher your risk of contracting COVID and ending up in the hospital.

Over the past year, researchers have been warning that the COVID jabs appear to be dysregulating and actually destroying people’s immune systems, leaving them vulnerable not only to COVID but also other infections.5 It stands to reason, then, that Africa with its low injection rate would not be burdened with COVID cases brought on by dysfunctional immune systems.

    Report From Uganda

Campbell goes on to cite a large-scale survey by a community health partner in Uganda, which surveyed doctors, nurses and medical officers across the country, and “basically, they don’t see any COVID anymore,” he says.

They’re not getting the jab and they’re not getting tested for COVID either. There’s no need, because no one is getting sick with COVID — at least not to the point they need medical attention.

The Ugandan government has even stopped publishing COVID guidelines. From their perspective, the pandemic is over. The same sentiment appears common in other African countries as well. Given the situation on the ground, is it really a pressing need to jab 30 million people in Uganda against a disease they’re not getting sick from?

  7. Dr. Campbell has another video out which I haven't watched yet. Basically, we're all going to catch the latest variant (XBB.1.5, (Kraken)).

XBB 1 5, expect to catch this soon

    From the description:

    Spread of XBB.1.5 is stunning

80% of Americans who've already been infected are likely to catch it again

    https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/he...

Dr. Paula Cannon, virologist, University of Southern California

    It's crazy infectious

All the things that have protected you for the past couple of years,

I don't think are going to protect you against this new crop of variants

Essentially, everyone in the country is at risk for infection now,

    even if they're super careful,

    up to date on vaccines,

    or have caught it before

The interview with Sasha Latypova begins at the 44 minute mark.

(The first interview is also worth watching re. Russian interference insanity results in SWAT raids on American activists involved in unrelated issues.)

  9. "I chaired the commission for the Lancet for two years on COVID. I'm pretty convinced it came out of US lab biotechnology. Not out of nature... [That's] out of two years of intensive work on this. So it's a blunder, in my view, of biotech not an accident of a natural spillover. We don't know for sure, I should be absolutely clear. But there's enough evidence that it should be looked into. And it's not being investigated. Not in the United States. Not anywhere. And I think for real reasons, that they don't want to look underneath the rug." —Jeffrey D. Sachs

I watched about ten minutes from the 44-minute mark. I do understand why there was no time for testing, hence the reason why they didn't go the normal route with the FDA.

As an aside, the ER doctors in our hospitals here were saying the bulk of the people who were dying were unvaccinated. This was for all age groups. How would I have fared without being vaccinated? I don't know because there's no counter-factual here. The other thing is that I have no symptoms of long Covid, so there's that too.

    The bivalent vaccine booster outperforms

So after this, I will be quadruple-vaxxed with one natural infection, so I should be good to go. Either that, or my immune system will be shot. Could go either way. If the latter, maybe I won't live long enough to die of something horrible. I always try to see the good in things.

So why wasn't the public told that?

What is the mean age of death from Covid? Of respiratory illness in general?
Of those who died with Covid, what percentage had 2 or more co-morbidities?

Your ER doctors were lying to you with regard to all age groups. The bulk of people dying will be among the elderly, or anyone with existing health issues.

You can do your homework, use common sense, or get your DoD approved product. Your body, your choice!

p.s. full disclosure: I'm 55, unvaxxed, in relatively good health, and haven't had anything worse that a mild cold over the past three years.

  12. So, about that whole bivalent vaccine thing, this came out today.

U.S. FDA, CDC see early signal of possible Pfizer bivalent COVID shot link to stroke

    Also, here:

CDC and FDA say they're investigating possible link between Pfizer's bivalent Covid booster and strokes in seniors over age of 65 — but officials have 'no concerns at this time'

Health officials are investigating whether Pfizer's updated Covid booster increases the risk of strokes in people over the age of 65.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said their surveillance system flagged a link between the new shot and a higher risk of an ischemic stroke three to four weeks post-vaccination.

Officials said other systems put in place to track vaccine injuries have not found a similar link, which makes them believe it is a statistical anomaly rather than a true cause for alarm.

I might wait a while on getting that bivalent vaccine...

  13. Then you probably have good natural immunity to viruses…

We who have always lived in the north have to have always dealt with viruses in the cold months…

I had covid in Jan 2020 before all the freak out it’s was like an average cold…

I took an Advil and went golfing it was Jan 1st holiday and was 48 degrees… course was open..
