Mike Norman has passed away

Mike's daughter, Masha, reported Mike's passing in a Facebook post on Nov. 1; his sister, Robin, confirmed it later in an email. No details at this point.

I am shocked and saddened by the news. This is a terrible loss for the many who knew him or followed him. He was the only one applying MMT to markets on a daily basis.

Mike was one of the few economists who got government finance correct. He never got the recognition he deserved but kept plugging away regardless.

He was also a great teacher. One of his core teachings was what he called "the mental game," which applies not only to trading and investing but also to life as a whole.

He will be sorely missed.
