As we observe the back out day, just want to thank tom and mike for maintaining this site. Always like the links and commentary you all provide here. Good community of editors and readers!
Saw google blacked out their logo on their search results pages at least towards the end of the day yesterday.... but did not shut down their search....
Resp,
Craig,
Thanks for being a loyal reader!

Matt,
If Google had shut down, there would have been shareholder lawsuits even if the board had agreed to the action. It was easier for them to put the "black band" and educate the people about SOPA/PIPA
Wikipedia could shut down because it is a not for profit, and no shareholder lawsuits to contend with.
Clonal,
did google just do it toward the end of the day or did they do that (black band) all day? if you know....
Resp,
I only saw it towards the end of the day Eastern Time...
