Where is the UE Empire?

"Where is the UE Empire?"

Still in the minds of the Eurocrats. but that is the objective, who realize that the EU is the world's largest economy having the highest development. They figure that by coordinating, they can best the US (North American alliance), China (perhaps coordinated with Japan and some other Asian countries), India, and the Islam world. There is also a good chance that Europe could convince Russia to join since its heritage and destiny are with Europe rather than Asia. Turkey is also making the case that its history as Byzantium and destiny as a people lie with the West rather than the East .

I would expect to see something like this unfolding over the next hundred years, including greater coordination of the South as Latin America, Africa and Indonesia come on line. It will be interesting to see where Australia will fall in. There could be a close alliance of the UK, US, Canada, and Australia, for example but geo-strategically that would be a nightmare.

But that map does give a vivid picture of how imaginary lines are drawn on the surface of the earth and change over time, often dramatically.

The video nicely shows how France and Spain have been relatively stable for a long time, whereas Germany (or the region currently know as such) has been a disaster.

Seems like the most stable period was during the cold war. The lines seems to freeze for a few seconds on the video during that era.

Actually, the area on the map with the smallest countries (what is now mainly Germany), was also the most advanced. The vast empires stagnated for centuries.

After viewing it a couple times it seems that as the periphery get more stable the core gets more unstable and vice verse. We are in a period of what appears to be "core" strength.

Tom,

This is an interesting video that might be worth putting up as it's own post. I think the comments would be very interesting. "What does this video have correct, and what are they leaving out?"

The French. Say what you will about them but they gave the world the concept of the nation state and they understand the concept.

Hopefully they be able to save Europe from this EU disaster of an idea by remembering their history and reclaiming their sovereignty.

If the EuroGarchs ignore the people's demands then I hope the people of France still have the guts for another Bastille Day.
The French people must not let Hollande become another Obama. Under the right pressure from workers maybe we can get a French FDR. The fight has only just begun...
