Ironically, some tools for eluding detection come from US government-funded programs aimed at helping people living under authoritarian regimes.

This thing of taking "extreme" measures to safeguard one's privacy, while understandable, could backfire and actually become a bit of a red flag.

This is an issue that requires thinking things through.
