Robert Reich — The Quiet Closing of Washington

In effect, America is splitting apart without going through all the trouble of a civil war.
What I've been saying for some time.

Students of US history realize that this is the same dichotomy that preceded the founding of the republic and affected is early history, culminating in the Civil War. Now that dichotomy has again risen to the fore and is dividing the nation into opposing camps, with a significant faction arming against the federal government.

Dangerous game not only domestically but also geopolitically. While I favor Jefferson's stance philosophically, Hamilton was the superior geo-strategist.
