Kirk Bennett — Arming Ukraine: A Dose of Realism

Anti-realist and non-neocon strategic assessment. Kirk think that we are already in a Cold War with Russia and arming Ukraine has more benefits than costs. If Russia is drawing lines in the sand, so should the US.

It's looking like globalization is on hold, with standoffs between Global East and Global West, and Global North and Global South. Nationalism and tribalism are rising in reaction to globalism.

If the objective is to intensify a civil war, split Ukraine in two (or lose it entirely), then that is a dose of realism.

"Russia has embarked on a path to isolation, deprivation, chronic conflict and decline"

Isolated, Deprived of European/UK/US/Canada/Australia isn't what it used to be. So tiresome, all this war mongering, is pointless. The conservatives, neo-libs, and progressives are determined to project their ideology on to this battle and use it for their own purposes when the battle has no greater meaning or context than Ukraine is wedged between two powers and is being used as it always has been, as a foot ball for whatever the argument of the day is.

Turkey, Hong Kong, Panama and other lands that act as gateways between cultures but have overcome domination should be viewed as models and guide Ukraine to find a path less prone to violence. Egypt and Ukraine both are struggling to live up to the potential significance of their geographic straddle between continents.

I wonder what kind of BS sources one got to be fulfilled by to still consider Russian-Ukrainian military conflict a civil war this late in the game.
