The Saker — Real world vs “TV reality” – is a war inevitable?

There will be no American politicians in Moscow to celebrate Victory Day this year. But for once, I sure hope that they will at least turn on their beloved TV sets, watch and think about what this celebration commemorates and ask themselves a simple question: are we really that stronger and that smarter than Napoleon and Hitler were?
Unfortunately, the fatal temptation of leaders is to prove that they can do what Napoleon and Hitler could not because they are like Alexander.

My feeling is that in a conventional war we would dominate Russia.

They have admitted that they cannot dominate NATO in a conventional war and will take it nuclear. That's why I have been hammering on this. At first it would be tactical nukes and intermediate range missiles that would be targeted at European NATO bases. This is why Merkel and Hollande are freaked out about the US supplying lethal weapons to the loose cannons and outright Nazis in Ukraine. This is a recipe for disaster.

Tom Cotton's idea that the US can bomb, bomb, bomb Iran for a few days and have that be the end of it is on the same level of stupid.
