Craig Murray — The Four Horsemen Gallop By

There is no purpose in a military attack on Syria other than to attempt to help the jihadists overthrow Assad.
Recall that all this began when Zbigniew Brzezinski convinced Jimmy Carter to arm and support jihadis in Afghanistan to draw Russia into a quagmire. Since then, the US has been caught in the quagmire itself. Here go for more. The crazies still have not learn their lesson.

This week John Bolton assumes the job of national security advisor. Given that a key function of that position is to ensure that the bureaucracy provides the relevant options and most accurate information to the president before major national security decisions, it is hard to think of anyone more ill suited to that duty. Bolton’s method of policy formation has been to try to bully any part of the bureaucracy that does not subscribe to his personal agenda and bully away any part of the truth that does not serve his objectives. Bolton has never met a war or prospective war he didn’t like. He still avows that the Iraq War—with all the costs and chaos it caused, from thousands of American deaths to the birth of the group that we now know as the Islamic State—was a good idea. That someone with this perspective has been entrusted with the job Bolton now has is a glaring example of how there often is no accountability in Washington for gross policy malpractice.…

Many, many layers to this including Syria as a test bed for weapons development and live testing against Russian systems, Israeli "security", control of Syria's oil resources, routes for gas pipelines (cutting Russia's and new ones from Qatar), as well as continuing to see how far Russia can be bullied.

Keep poking that bear until it growls at you. Then poke it some more and see what happens. But don't act surprised when it bites, which will be played as an unprovoked act of aggression and used accordingly.

Then it’s all on Russia ...

Russia foiled the plan to take over Syria using jihadi proxies by coming to the aid of the legitimate Syrian government after having been given permission to intervene in the country. The neocons, liberal interventionist, and Israelis are livid about it. Now they are faced with having to mount another illegal aggression.

Notice the rush to act quickly without consulting the legislature in the US and UK. I don't know about France.

BTW, Russia said that it would strike launch sites. France said that it intends to launch from France.

Who is going to blink, or maybe no one.

“Hey! The US is going to leave Syria!.... Get out the poison gas!” = “Hey! Natgas is over 13! ..... Shut off the valve!”

Same thought process from these F ups...

Mike just emailed a statement from Mattis walking back the poison gas claims a bit...

Trump could be calling their bluff again...

Military Times

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Wednesday that the U.S. and key allies are still working on options to respond to Syria’s suspected chemical attacks, and have not concluded who was behind the attacks.

“We are still assessing the intelligence, ourselves and our allies, we’re still working on this,” Mattis said when asked whether the government of Syrian president Bashar Assad was responsible.

Makes the political people rushing to judgment look like morons.

If you’re going to do a punitive strike it has to be timely....

If you are going to "do a punitive strike" you must first establish justifiable cause and determine who is responsible.

Unless you are the US.

Bolton is running this show now (for Bibi). His specialty is destroying countries. He still thinks that what the US did to Iraq was a good idea.

Pervert?
