Chris Dillow — Obstacles to full employment

Is full employment sustainable? For me, this is one question posed by the row between Richard Murphy and Jonathan Portes and Simon Wren-Lewis over Labour’s proposed fiscal rule....
Disappointing for a someone that is sympathetic to Marx, as Chris Dillow identifies himself.

I'm always baffled by Chris Dillow's claim to be a Marxist: he never advocates nationalising the means of production any similar Marxist stuff. He just comes across as a standard (but intelligent) economics commentator.

Unemployment could be easily fixed by implementing a generous BIG and declaring victory.

Mother raising children / caring for family is a job. Going to school is a job. Fixing your house is a job. Time to start paying people for these things.
