Arvin Ash - Time is an Ilusion

Could all of time be here at once and we are just observing life like watching a movie go by. The beginning, middle, and the end are all here at once, but just like reading a book, we are forced to observe it one moment at a time.

But why is there struggle when everything is preordained? And yet without the struggle there can be no consciousness. Creatures became aware of reality in order to be able to survive in it, and so evolution took place and higher consciousness came about.

Carl Jung's myth was what struggle brought consciousnes to the universe, and that the Almighy was becoming conscious because of the struggle of living creatures. For Carl Jung, a myth was man's way of understanding the mysteries of the cosmos, which might not mean it is factually true, but is still spiritually true. That there is a reason for mankind and a reason for why the universe is the way it is - with all its opposities that produces consciousness - light and dark, happiness and sadness, hot and cold, etc.

Because of the pain of loneliness we can appreciate the joy of frienship and closeness. So, the price paid for consciousness is suffering. Not a cheery thought.

Or we could be living in a 3-d world where things happen.

Or that we are living in a simulation.

Then what really matters might easily be morality - like the Bible says:

Micah 6:8 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice,
to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?

I did watch another video last year which said that although the future is already laid out, it is changing all the time. Therefore, we do have a bit of free will. I might be on my way to marry, say, Linda, and this future and my children with her is fixed out in time before me, but something happens and I marry Tricia instead, and then my future completely changes. From this model, the future is always changing. I think i prefer this model.
