COVID 19: Is the virus airborne and do masks and hand sanitisers work?

You can wash your mask, in fact, it's best to because there isn't enough masks to go around. Dr Jo Barnes recommends water and bleach.

The virus may be airborne in aerosol droplets for at least for an hour or so. I've read elsewhere that scientists are not certain about this yet.

Wash fridge and door handles, she says, and soap is better than sanitizer for killing the virus.

She says that a paper medical mask is better than a cloth one because it stays drier.

Dr Jo Barnes, an epidemiologist and semi-retired senior lecturer from the Department of Global Health at the University of Stellenbosch, gives a detailed explanation of the airborne nature of COVID-19, what types of masks to wear and their effectiveness, and how to disinfect your home.

Vacume bag material and Cotton fabric (e.g. a bit of cotton T shirt) is not too bad. See:

And for something seriously upmarket, how about this full face mask, with a battery powered air pump which will protect your eyes as well as nose and mouth: you’d have to rig up your own filter (which could be strapped to your chest, for example). Think of the hours of fun doing that, never mind stopping viruses.

The above ideas are “at your own risk”. I’m not guaranteeing beneficial results.

Coffee filter, and then when you’ve done your shores you use it to brew your coffee.
A fan in front of you blowing dangers away from you.
