The outgoing Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, says Israel cannot annex the West Bank, because the land already belongs to the Jews according to the bible, which is the Jewish deed to the land.
And Danon speaks not as representative of just the government of Israel, but the Jewish people...

Bibles were waved about to justify slavery too...
Hebrews could not hold fellow Hebrews as slaves and one supposes that applied to converts too.
The problem with the Christian US South then, Biblically speaking, was holding Christian slaves.
Not that the US is free of slavery today since wage, debt and rent slavery abounds - from ignoring the Old Testament.
