Chinese authorities were incompetent. They wasted 1 and a half months before taking measures to stop the spread of a virus with an unknown fatality rate.
The West wasted another 2 months before implementing their own measures, which they then politicized. Failure all around. Meanwhile, countries and regions that did act competently receive little attention by the media.
