Given its length (2,000 words) that article is remarkably short of any actual ideas. But then the "Institute for New Economics Thinking" which published it is funded by George Soros I believe. So INET will be a good source of dollars for economists looking to keep themselves employed while helping relieve Soros of his millions.
Here's an idea:
If there's full employment, people have no incentive to work hard.

As usual Ralph Musgrave only has contempt to offer anyone. This is a very comprehensive summary of our situation, focussed on a general audience, and as such a welcome contribution to public discourse. This article and its like needs to be spread widely if one wants to prevent oligarchs and austerians from ruling the day.
Well maybe some of us don’t need the motivation of a global pandemic to be able to think... and have nothing but contempt for those that do...
