Criticism and mockery of Islam and its prophet is often opposed on the grounds that God and his messenger are a sensitive issue for Muslims. True as this may be, it does not warrant an immunity from criticism -- or mockery -- especially given the demands that Islam makes upon us all.

Fanatics are sensitive, Islam is an enduring religious belief.
To put it in a more familiar context, imagine if any Catholic could speak to the faithful and be accepted as the pope.
