A 1980s English Pop Band From Brighton, UK
When I was a teen all my friends got into each others music, but as we got older we all got fragmented, so no one really got into many of the bands that I was into, including Frazier Chorus, and my favourite if all, Robyn Hitchcock. It got lonely!
Anyway, Frazor Chorus are so unusual that I thought I would post some of their tracks, as I like to put out a music post from time to time. I normally stick to bands that have a much wider appeal, a rule I broke with the Magnetic Fields, but I did that because the video where Stephen Merritt created a song was so good. I haven't got an excuse for this one, except that Frazor Chorus are so unusual that not many people would come across them otherwise, so I thought, let's put it out here because someone might like it.
Frazier Chorus were an English pop group from Brighton, England, (1986 - 1996). A pop group that utilised flute, clarinet, bongos and hushed vocals. The 1980's production has dated, but they still sound good. Tim Freeman wrote and sang the songs, but he narrated them rather than sang them. He also played the guitar and keyboards. Frazor Chorus were classically trained musicians and I think this was part of their appeal to me, as I love the flute and the clarinet, plus the other classical instruments they used, although I'm not into classical music. It's pop music which may have been slightly related to the British New Romantic movement.
They only made three albums, but the third flopped, so the record company dropped them.
While I'm here, we used say when we were young, what could come after rock, and we couldn't think of anything? But now we have this mixture of R&B, Rap, and Rock, like Linkin Park, and I really don't like it. I finally got old.
Later I will do a post on the La's, which are another very unusual band.

I like them. Reminiscent of OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark)
Wow, I'm not so lonely now!
Here's a band I like, yet no one seems to know about:
The Ladybug Transistor - This Old Chase
They sound quite nice, but I was unable to play that track in this country. I might find it somewhere else later.
Yes, simple pop, the sort of thing I like.

The Essex Green is another band with this style. The only reason I discovered them was because I thought the name was cute.

Crikey, there's a similarity between what you like and I what I like. Nice stuff! I lost interest in heavy years ago.
I looked them up. An American band.
Yeah, I imagined they were from Essex -lol
New song added - Cloud 8
There's more than one Essex. The one near me is the only that tends to come to mind
