Amazing how this myth continues to be perpetuated. You'd think by now there'd be a clear understanding of the distinction between the government's finances and a household. But the myth continues with extraordinary effectiveness.

It’s an analogy he is making…

“ a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification.”

Typical Art degree figurative methodology….

Doesn’t work… obviously…

Or you correct the analogy.

- why would a sovereign nation have a credit limit? Which god issues the credit limit?
- why would you worry about such a thing when you have a credit card that can pay itself off?

if you had one of those, what would you do with it?

You can’t correct figurative language with other figurative language..

When has that ever been shown to work?

Correction is reached as a result of an adjustment…

McCarthy is not trained to make adjustments…

McCarthy is trained to argue via dialogue…

Neil it’s in the Bible:

“to those on the outside everything is said in parables, so that, ''they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding” Mark 4:11

If you DO NOT want someone to understand something , THEN that’s when you use figurative language…

Stick with the scientific abstractions…

Translation: the working class of America has to tighten their belts.

Only if you work in e.g. woke indoctrination, human trafficking, climate nutter stuff, drugs, gender bending, criminal activity, etc…

They're not working class. They're part of the establishment.

Those on the Right with the loudest mouths are not going learn since they are not wanting to learn.

Because all that potential new money created will simply perpetuate and expand liberal programs which they abhor. Or at least they and their followers think they should abhor.

“Amazing how this myth continues to be perpetuated.” ~ Mike Norman.

The myth is a political tool, just like the “gold standard” myth.

On 15 Aug 1971 President Nixon used an executive order to end the “gold standard” pretense. Up until then, whenever federal politicians did not want to spend money, politicians claimed that the U.S. government had “no money” because of the “gold standard.”

On the other hand, politicians ignored the “gold standard” whenever they wanted to create spending money (e.g. for wars). Politicians did this all the time, evoking or ignoring the “gold standard.”

Today’s lies function the same way. Federal politicians continue to create infinite dollars at will. But when they don’t want to spend money, they talk about “debt limits.” They claim that the U.S. government is “bankrupt.”

Republicans and Democrats both use this myth whenever it suits them. Obama used it to defend his orders to bail out the criminal banks, while he threw average Americans out of their houses. Obama said U.S. government had “no money” to save average Americans. Meanwhile the U.S. government creates infinite money for weapons makers, plus the “CARES Act” and so on.

Now it is House Republicans’ turn to use the myth, since they are angry about the monstrous $1.7 trillion “omnibus” spending bill.

Right it’s just politics as usual…
