Jeff Cox — Ackman: Bloomberg will run for president, and win

[Bill] Ackman likely won't be putting any actual money on this bet—Bloomberg sure doesn't need it—but he's certain the former New York City mayor and head of his eponymous company is going to run for U.S. president, and win.
"I would do everything in my power to get this guy elected," Ackman, the head of Pershing Square Capital, said at the Bloomberg Markets Most Influential Summit.
Bloomberg has been mentioned on multiple occasions as a potential late-comer to the race. Though he's politically independent, some suspect he would take a shot at Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.
"The window is now or never," Ackman said. "Bloomberg is going to run and is going to win president."
Could see Biden entering the race (with Liz Warren as VP?). Bloomberg, too?

Rebecca Leber — What Climate Change Looks Like on Your Front Porch

A new report, published on Tuesday, represents an attempt to change that. It’s called “Risky Business” and it comes from a year-long research project, convened and financed by Michael Bloomberg, Hank Paulson, and Tom Steyer. It’s the latest in a series of new reports that sound alarms about climate change: the health effects, glaciers melting, and impact on food nutrition, to name a few. But the researchers and scientists who produced Risky Business are trying to do something a little different. Using new, more sophisticated projections, they have broken down the U.S. into the same regions used in the National Climate Assessment and attempted to show what climate change will mean for each one. They are also trying to put a dollar value on the risk climate change represents in these regions, particularly for businesses.
That last part is important. The primary audience for the report isn’t really Main Street. It’s Wall Street—and corporate boardrooms. The backers include a number of people with credibility in this world—not just Paulson, who used to run Goldman Sachs and served as Treausry Secretary in the Bush Administration, but also George Shultz (Treasury Secretary under George H.W. Bush) and Olympia Snowe (the former Republican senator). Paulson, who has apparently been particularly active in this project, argued in a weekend New York Times op-ed that “risk management is a conservative principle.”

Donald Trump gets a police escort to fill his vehicles with gas!

This is too much! Why is Trump getting a police escort to get gas while average New Yorker and New Jerseyans have to wait on line for hours just in the HOPES of getting some gas?

Why are police being PAID to take this guy around to fill his vehicles? Why is he getting this treatment? It's bad enough that the wealthy can do whatever they want, but this bloviator?? It's too much!!!!

We all know what's happening in America...if you are a billionaire, a member of the wealthy elite, or a Wall Street banker, you get to do whatever you want, without consequences, with the sanction and even protection of the state. And US FOOL TAXPAYERS ARE PAYING FOR THIS!!!

Donald Trump is corrupt. NYPD is corrupt. Ray Kelly is corrupt. Michael Bloomberg is corrupt. All for starters.

ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!

NYC Mayor Bloomberg: Highly-indebted U.S. could go the way of Europe By Joan Gralla

If the mayor believes this, he is stupid. All one needs to do is look up the definition of "fiat currency" in any dictionary. If he is being disingenuous and trying to manipulate public opinion, he is a liar.

Meet His Majesty, the King of New York City

“I have my own army in the NYPD, which is the seventh biggest army in the world,” he said. “I have my own State Department, much to Foggy Bottom’s annoyance. We have the United Nations in New York, and so we have an entree into the diplomatic world that Washington does not have."
