Ben Aris — Business News Europe — Russia is running out of money – not…

…The Economist ran a cover story claiming that, "Russia is closer to crisis than the West or Vladimir Putin realize," because it was running out of money.
More Moronism. Last time I checked Russia was a currency sovereign that floats its currency and has ample reserves to meet foreign obligations of its banks and firms, which even Moody's admits.
Why don’t the anti-Russia crowd just confess that what it is passing off as "analysis" is actually wishful thinking?

There is no way in hell that the Republicans will not royally fuck up the economy and the dollar, too.

There is no way in hell that the Republicans will not royally fuck up the economy and the dollar, too. NO. WAY. IN. HELL.

With their hyper insane, fiscally conservative, spending cut, safety net demolishing, hard line ideology, this is a given.

I am calling it. You will witness the end of the stock market rally and the end of the economic expansion sometime between now and March of next year. I would use all stock market strength at this juncture to start selling out your stocks.

THE REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO ROYALLY FUCK UP THE ECONOMY AND THE DOLLAR.

The best part, though, is that after they fuck it up to the max (and this ain't gonna be no short-term thing), they will SUCCEED in putting all the blame on the fucking ass lame Democrats. And the Dems will deserve it! Hahaahahaaa!!!

Juan Cole — Detroit's Collapse Reveals the Awful Dystopia that the United States Is Becoming

The big question is whether Detroit’s bankruptcy and likely further decline is a fluke or whether it tells us something about the dystopia that the United States is becoming. It seems to me that the city’s problems are the difficulties of the country as a whole, especially the issues of deindustrialization, robotification, structural unemployment, the rise of the 1% in gated communities, and the racial divide. The mayor has called on families living in the largely depopulated west of the city to come in toward the center, so that they can be taken care of. It struck me as post-apocalyptic. Sometimes the abandoned neighborhoods accidentally catch fire, and 30 buildings will abruptly go up in smoke.

Andrei Khalip — Portugal president calls crisis talks as government teeters

Portugal on the brink of collapse as nation buckles under "expansionary fiscal austerity" without the expansion.

Looks like denying air access to Morales's plane didn't win them any forbearance from the Empire and its minions.

Economic Collapse — Unprecedented Shortages Of Ammo, Physical Gold And Physical Silver

All over the United States we are witnessing unprecedented shortages of ammunition, physical gold and physical silver. Recent events have helped fuel a "buying frenzy" that threatens to spiral out of control. Gun shops all over the nation are reporting that they have never seen it this bad, and in many cases any ammo that they are able to get is being sold even before it hits the shelves. The ammo shortage has already become so severe that police departments all over America are saying that they are being told that it is going to take six months to a year to get their orders. In fact, many police departments have begun to trade and barter with one another to get the ammo that they need. Meanwhile, the takedown of paper gold and paper silver has unleashed an avalanche of "panic buying" of physical gold and physical silver all over the planet. In the United States, some dealers are charging premiums of more than 25 percent over the spot price for gold and silver and they are getting it. People are paying these prices even though they are being told that delivery will not happen for a month or two in many cases. Some dealers are feverishly taking as many orders as they can, and they are just hoping that they will be able to get the physical gold and silver to eventually fill those orders. Personally, I have never seen anything like this. If things are this tight now, what is going to happen when the next major financial crisis strikes and people really begin to panic?
