Paul Ryan serves up the latest Turkey-Hand recipe, relying heavily on promoting volunteerism and advocating charity in the place of food stamps to conquer poverty. And if that doesn’t work, hey, folks — just pray! “You cure poverty eye to eye, soul to soul,” Ryan explained to a Heritage Foundation forum. “Spiritual redemption: That’s what saves people.”Paul Ryan's answer to Pope Francis?

ReplyDeleteTom,
wrt Francis imo he will get right on board with this ... he will like what he sees... I hope to be proven wrong...
Ryan and Francis combined vision is one of a "max soup kitchen" economy... they both advocate for "charity" as some sort of 'solution' to these economic issues...
This is Catholicism 101: 'justification through works' ...
they are both probably very excited to get this going so "more people get to heaven... and less go to hell..." in their stupid and blind view of things...
"the church" has no authority to impose judgement in these economic issues or anywhere else for that matter, "the church" is a metonymy and a non-scriptural, flesh-man-generated institution...
So the Pope's institution is a complete fiction (and looks like financially corrupt based on some recent revelations)...
And as for Ryan (and looks like the Pope too I'm afraid), he is stupid and blind to how the authority to impose these economic judgements has been given to we humans and can be imposed via our scripturally identified institution of civil government as Apostle Paul taught our Greek and Roman ancestors almost 2,000 years ago...
Their plan here cannot work ultimately, it can help a bit short term perhaps... only our govt institution has the authority to increase incomes which we use as 'means of subsistence'... sorry Ryan and the Pope.
rsp,
And Luther would embrace usury in favor of pogroms and increasing the interest rate he so deserved and wished for
ReplyDeleteAnd let them eat jelly beans from the hands of reaganomics voodoo mmt and trickle treatism
goog,
ReplyDeleteWhatever Luther thought ultimately doesnt matter... for the 'ecclesia' of Christ (ie NOT "the church" which btw nobody can even define what this word means) what SHOULD matter is what the Apostle Paul taught, period.
rsp,
The Apostle Paul said to read the Old Testament so don't be surprised if he testifies against you at the Last Judgement, Franko.
ReplyDeleteAs for Paul Ryan, he's a hypocrite.
F,
ReplyDeletearent you going to the big Ducks Dynasty New Years Day support rally today????
No Franko, because the Old Testament puts much, much more emphasis on justice than on stoning people who commit sodomy in public.
ReplyDeleteBut you ignore the former and overemphasize the latter, so you have more in common with that Duck character than me.
If any world representative has experience with a country that tried everything including mmt that will be francis' argentina.
ReplyDeleteNothing helps
Everyone needs their jelly beanz
