This was on the front page of the Iowa City Press-Citizen yesterday. The article also reported rising sales of bulletproof glass.

  1. The most effective way to reduce violence is to

[1] Stop worshipping war and violence
[2] Stop promoting poverty, inequality, debt bondage, and hopelessness

But no, America prefers to keep pushing violence, while we keep pushing gimmicks like “bullet proof backpacks.”

(NOTE: “Bullet proof” vests and glass are only effective against most handguns. They are useless against most rifles. Also, how is a “bullet proof backpack” supposed to protect you from a pistol shot outside of your chest? Why not have kids attend school from inside 70-ton tanks?)

We Americans love war zones. We create them wherever possible. Rather than reduce violence, we prefer to increase our combat gear. We love war and violence more than we love our own kids. And when we cause our kids to be gunned down, we wonder why it happened. We pray to God for an explanation, and God rightly responds with his middle finger in one hand, and a mirror in the other.

Another thing that many Americans love (not all) is militant “sensitivity training.” We punish males for making unwanted romantic overtures to women. We punish men and women alike for questioning the special “rights” of homosexuals and LGDTXYZ people.

Meanwhile we bless the hazing, harassing, bullying, and general peer pressure that saturates American K-12 schools (and which produces school shooters) because, after all, war is war.

Militant feminists and LGDTXYZ people are protected.

For everyone else in America, it’s “Lord of the Flies.”
