Megan Keller — Warren introduces Accountable Capitalism Act

“There’s a fundamental problem with our economy. For decades, American workers have helped create record corporate profits but have seen their wages hardly budge,” Warren said in an announcement of the bill. “My bill will help the American economy return to the era when American companies and American workers did well together.”...
Whether the proposal would actually do that is going to be quite controversial.

At least is is about preemption and accountability, which is a step in the right direction.

  1. This would be a great law if by some miracle it ever got passed.

However I fear that it is another of Elizabeth Warren’s gimmicks. Warren seems like a Bernie Sanders-type phony, meaning that both Warren and Sanders only push great-sounding legislation when they know it has no chance of passing. Leading Democrats do this so they can falsely blame neoliberalism on Republicans.

Democrats controlled Congress from 2007-2011, plus a Democrat held the White House beginning on 20 Jan 2009. Instead of passing Universal Medicare when they had the chance, they passed Romney-care, which is a giant giveaway to the private insurance industry.

True, Warren did not take office until 3 Jan 2013, but as I said, she only sounds good on the surface.

For example, the USA is obsessed with various types of prohibition designed to maintain inequality, plus a police state to keep the peasants enslaved. We have the “war on drugs,” the “war on communism,” the “war on terrorism,” the “war on alcohol” (1920-33) and – with regard to Elizabeth Warren – the “war on voluntary sex work.” In the USA it is illegal to directly pay a woman for sex, unless the sex is filmed. (Six counties in Nevada are exceptions.)

This war on voluntary sex work is madness, and Elizabeth Warren promotes it. She opposes voluntary sex work because she’s a feminist. (You will know why she's a feminist if you've ever seen her face.)

Voluntary sex work alleviates the male sexual frustration that militant feminists derive their power from. Voluntary sex work also deprives neoliberals of some of their power, since male sexual frustration helps to keep the peasants divided so that neoliberals can keep the peasants enslaved. The prohibition against voluntary sex work also forces women to submit to awful jobs at minimum wage.

All this is part of the USA’s prohibition mentality.

Elizabeth Warren helped push the “Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act,” which Trump signed into law on 11 April 2018. This Act allowed Warren to order the FBI to shut down sex workers’ web sites on 6 April 2018 (e.g. Craigslist and Backpage), and to file federal charges against seven people associated with Backpage.

(Another blow struck in behalf of militant feminists.)

On 6 Nov 2017 Warren submitted a new Act that would let the FBI seize the bank accounts of anyone merely SUSPECTED of engaging in voluntary sex work (including in Nevada).

This is the “End Banking for Human Traffickers Act of 2017” (S. 2080). Warren’s bill has seven co-sponsors, six of which are Democrats.

A House version (H.R. 2219) was already passed on 10 April 2018 with only two “no” votes out of 428 Representatives. (Both no votes were Republicans).

The current Congress ends on 3 Jan 2019. If Warren doesn’t get her bill passed in the Senate and signed by Trump into law by then, Warren will have to submit her bill again.

The flip-side of the prohibition mentality is the mandatory mentality (i.e. the war on freedom). For example, Warren (like most Democrats) is a vocal champion of mandatory universal vaccination, which is designed to boost the profits of Big Pharma, and of doctors who treat people injured from Big Pharma’s poisons.

    I repeat:

Warren’s bill will let the FBI seize the bank accounts of anyone merely SUSPECTED of engaging in voluntary sex work.

Tell me again why she's so wonderful.

  2. The only thing accountable about capitalism is profit. The illusion of incremental transformation is utter bullshit. This won't change until the entire system is burned to the ground. And then there will be maybe 5 minutes before it starts all over again.

  3. I lost all faith in Warren when I saw her standing beside Hillary on the campaign trail. The sight was disgusting.
