Btw, globalism is compatible with a cold war mentality. If the aim is to end the latest cold war, isolationism on the part of the US is key. Isolationism would entail a change in US foreign policy + restrictions on trade. The two are inseparable since there is only one economic system in place around the globe.
So either US goes isolationist, leaving the rest of the world to its own devices, or the ROW accepts that globalism comes with cold war, and geopolitical maneuvering.
The biggest threat to globalism is climate change.
New boss same as old boss.
