Volt goes 1,000 miles between fill-ups, says GM

Boy would this be nice. I just spent $63 to fill up my 4-cyl. Outback the other day at $4.00+ per gallon for the 87 octane. Story at CNN Money.

If we all had a car like this, at the often reported 12,000 miles average we drive annually, this would mean only 12 fill-ups per year!

Yep, my wife drives an Outback too - but 6 cyl. - and that's about what it cost her to fill up. Fortunately, we both have short commutes.
