Yves Smith goes full bore MMT

Yves comments on Stephanie Kelton's recent post in Stephanie Kelton: What Happens When the Government Tightens its Belt?

Yves brings in Bill Mitchell to clarify and adds her own comments. Good read and nice plug for MMT. I'm sure the comment section will be interesting, too.

That's excellent news. Naked Capitalism is one of the top economics blogs. See Barry Ritholtz

Wondering if this means Yves Smith has gone complete MMT and can be accepted into the MMT fold?

I don't know if there's an MMT-fold, or any "acceptance" procedure. It seems to me that if you write or talk the "MMT" outlook in economics then you are someone following the MMT approach. Increasingly Yves seems to be doing that and opening up her pages more and more to MMT writings.

Her favorably quoting Bill is in contrast to some previous mild criticisms of his views she had expressed; so that's real movement towards MMT, and her featuring of Stephanie Kelton's pedagogic piece on basics is a strong indication that Yves is now even more favorable to MMT than she's been earlier.

Good for her! And good for the rest of us who love MMT too.
