It's a tough nut to crack. Over the past few months I have several times had to confront Democrats who are convinced that Obama tried to pass a second stimulus package, but that it was blocked by the Republicans.
Obviously the Republicans have sought to block every halfway decent thing Obama has attempted. But he hasn't attempted much, and there was certainly no second stimulus package. Since February of 2009, Obama has been on a deficit-cutting crusade.
