John T. Harvey — How Fiscal 'Responsibility' Creates Unemployment

It is lost on so many people that our problem today is not related to our inability to produce the goods and services in demand. We have the capacity. Heck, unemployment six years ago this month was only 4.6% and there is zero reason we can’t be there again. Nor could we ever run out of dollars, since we make them! The problem is jobs, and the government can and must create these. The absolute last thing they should be doing is exactly what they are doing: eliminating them.
