Roger,

It looks to me like they ARE working together but on idiotic stuff...

They both are searching for ways to lower the deficit and to stop all the borrowing... and they sometimes actually compromise on these issues and cooperate with each other...

The "Fix the Debt" people are manifestly bipartisan in their composition... Here's a NYT article on this effort they hope to get a big return on coordination from:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/24/business/campaign-to-fix-the-debt-gains-steam-after-years-in-the-making.html?_r=0

Read the article they are all working together and busy coordinating their pants off with a hope of a great return on coordination for the American people.

So the problem (to me) does not look like a shortage of cooperation.

In fact I am GLAD when we get gridlock as these people seeking their return on coordination dont get their way and the automatic appropriations can pass without a vote and at least we can muddle through...

It looks to me like some sort of a cognitive issue... or they have the authority upside-down... or both.

rsp,

cue Marriner Eccles? Please?

Coordination doesn't help if there's no RETURN on coordination

Yep, capitalism and democracy are antithetical.
