Options for Europe: Euthanize the Bankster-Technocrats

(Commentary posted by Roger Erickson)

Bill Mitchell continues to expose the tragic comedy of blunders that we call the euro-zone.

The tragicomedy is so well exemplified by ex ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet that one has to explain his anti-sense in order for it to mesh with reality.

"It is an error [by bankers] to think that fiscal austerity [NOT] is a threat to growth and job creation."

At least the IMF is admitting that they would not do it again ... the same way.

Not sure how that leaves most Europeans feeling. Among killers, thugs, gangsters & sociopaths .... do out to touch bankers really seem like the lesser of multiple evils? Is that really the best these people can do? The perennial wonder is that Europe can build CERN and/or the European Space Station ... but they can't manage a simple spreadsheet called a sovereign currency system.
