TASS — Pushkov says US’ criticism of Russian law on ‘undesirable organizations’ staggering

The law that was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday and posted on the official web portal of legal information says that a foreign or international, but only non-governmental (NGO), organization can be recognized as undesirable if it "poses a threat to fundamentals of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation, to the country’s defence capacity and security." A decision to this effect is passed by Russia’s prosecutor general or his deputies in coordination with the Russian Foreign Ministry. The Ministry of Justice is to be in charge of making up lists of ‘undesirable organizations’ and of publishing them.
The law imposes, in particular, a ban on activities, setting up and opening of structural subdivisions of an ‘undesirable organization’ in the Russian Federation and distribution of its information materials.
This is actually funny. The US criticizing Russia for outlawing NGO's that fund opposition groups in Russia aimed at regime change, when the US has made such activity illegal from the anti-Communist days and requires disclosure of foreign lobbying. There is even a push underway to get rid of Chinese-government funded Confucian Institutes at American universities that teach about Chinese culture. The level of hypocrisy is astounding.

And of course the feigned outrage over human rights is ridiculous in light of historical and recent US behavior.

Oh, and when was the last time that the US criticized human rights violations by allies like Saudi Arabia.

The puppets echo their puppet master even as they have to admit hosting US black torture sites.

USA: Law on "undesirable organizations" leads to Russia’s international isolation

Is the most dangerous country in the world the United States of America? According to a new poll from WIN and Gallup International, the U.S. represents the largest threat to world peace today.
In their annual End of Year [2013] poll, researchers for WIN and Gallup International surveyed more than 66,000 people across 65 nations and found that 24 percent of all respondents answered that the United States “is the greatest threat to peace in the world today.” Pakistan and China fell significantly behind the United States on the poll, with 8 and 6 percent, respectively. Afghanistan, Iran, Israel and North Korea all tied for fourth place with 4 percent.

Well, let's see...

RT reports the following from a 2012 report by US Defence Intelligence Agency:

"THE WEST, GULF COUNTRIES, AND TURKEY SUPPORT THE OPPOSITION… THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF ESTABLISHING A DECLARED OR UNDECLARED SALAFIST PRINCIPALITY IN EASTERN SYRIA (HASAKA AND DER ZOR), AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SUPPORTING POWERS TO THE OPPOSITION WANT, IN ORDER TO ISOLATE THE SYRIAN REGIME…”

Contrary to the fairy story we've been told, the US and its allies understood that something like ISIS would takeover much of Syria and this is "exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want".

Other than RT, no news channel, radio station or newspaper is reporting the DIA report! No one will touch it.

Apparently it took a federal lawsuit filed by a group called Judicial Watch for the US government to release the documents.

When there's another 9/11, those motherfu**ing lunatics in Washington, London, Paris, Ankara, etc, will tell us what? What new lies will they spin?

This story is as awful as you can imagine, and no one is fu**ing reporting it!

You can find the report here: http://levantreport.com/2015/05/19/2012-defense-intelligence-agency-document-west-will-facilitate-rise-of-islamic-state-in-order-to-isolate-the-syrian-regime/

Actually, I see Zero Hedge has something on it here: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-05-23/secret-pentagon-report-reveals-us-created-isis-tool-overthrow-syrias-president-assad

Actually there has been quite a bit of buzz on this for some time, but not in the Western media. Zero Hedge has picked up on some of it, but there is much more. It is really dark.

Israel and the Saudis are in on it too since they would prefer ISIS to control Syria instead of Assad who is allied with Iran.

The bonus is that Islamists are harassing the southern and eastern belly of Russia.

The level of duplicity and intrigue involved is staggering.

Here's a piece of it.

The Head of the GRU accuses US and allies of creating the transnational “Islamist” terrorist network
The Saker

Dear friends,

I am posting today the speech of Colonel-General Igor Sergun, Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. To say that his man, or the GRU is secretive would be an understatement. Almost all the information publicly available about Sergun is in the short biography (researched by Scott) which I have placed at the end of this post. As a general rule, the GRU never makes a public statement, nor does the person heading it. It is thus interesting that on one of the very few occasions were General Sergun agreed to speak in public, he chose to focus on the risks of the so-called “Islamic” extremism and that in a relatively short presentation, he made four reference to the fact that these “Islamic” terrorists are basically a creature of the West. One might be tempted to say “nothing new here, we all know that” – but that would be missing the point. The point is that the head of Russian military intelligence is openly declaring that the so-called “Islamic terrorism” is not an original or indigenous phenomenon, but an instrument in the toolset of western imperialism which is used to subvert the countries which dare oppose the worldwide hegemony of the AngloZionist Empire.

If this were a sane world, the DIA story would be as big a scandal as the Pentagon Papers were in 1971.

The difference is that in 1971 the NYT made the Pentagon Papers headline news, but in 2015 only the alternative media is covering the DIA story.

"The bonus is that Islamists are harassing the southern and eastern belly of Russia."

And China. As repressed as they are, let's hope the Uyghur population in eastern China don't play into Washington's hands.

"The level of duplicity and intrigue involved is staggering."

Words can't describe this. This is beyond treason, for which I believe you can still be executed. This is the fu**ing craziest thing I've ever heard. Leave aside the millions slaughtered by the jihadis in the Middle East, Africa and Asia in recent decades, just in terms of selfish self-preservation, you'd think post 9/11 and the bombings in London, Madrid, Paris and elsewhere, we'd have learnt by now: under no circumstances aid the Salafi jihadi movement.

It just goes to prove that geopolitics trumps security any day of the week. As long as Assad is toppled, the West is willing to endure any number of 9/11s.

This really makes me sick to my stomach. This truly evil, mad policy is about as counterproductive as one can imagine. All is well though because Nobel Laureate Obama did it.

As has been said before, no one runs an empire like a liberal.

Tom Hickey said...

Not to excuse Obama but no president has been able to get ahold of the tail of this tiger since Truman created it in response to the "Red Menace" post-WWII. That was the beginning of the deep state (Russian siloviki). Then there came the Henry "Scoop"Jackson war hawks. Later, the neocons were added to the mix. Now they are deeply embedded in the nomenklatura, another Russian loan word.

Tom Hickey said...

Oh, it gets even worse. The deep state was formed with the aid of Nazis imported for the purpose. See Operation Paper Clip. This was not just scientists.

So much for de-Nazification! I knew the US engineered the escape of Klaus Barbie, so his "knowledge" could be passed on to the neo-Nazi Bolivian military before it was shared across south America, Pinochet being the most obvious.

And the Nazi rocket scientists who to all intents and purposes were the brains behind NASA are also well known.

But Nazis inside the US intelligence services? Whose bright idea was that? Is there no madness that the empire won't stoop to?

With this new revelation about ISIS, the US republic is now in my mind finished. There is no hope for rehabilitation. Time to start again with a new republic. This time round we'll need 300 million Tom Paines.

Wow, US bombs ISIS to help them box-in Assad! Man, that's almost as tricksey as Putin sending his "little green men" into Ukraine to bring about peace! Good thing we have such bright lights on this forum to figure this stuff out!

Dan Lynch said...

@Bob Salsa, the US has been "accidentally" bombing the Shia forces who are fighting ISIS, and at the same time "accidentally" dropping weapons in ISIS-controlled territory.

Dan Lynch said...

Moon of Alabama today on how the US has a long list of excuses why it hasn't bombed ISIS when it could have easily done so.

On April 26 Russia’s main national TV station, Rossiya 1, featured President Vladimir Putin in a documentary to the Russian people on the events of the recent period including the annexation of Crimea, the US coup d’etat in Ukraine, and the general state of relations with the United States and the EU. His words were frank. And in the middle of his remarks the Russian former KGB chief dropped a political bombshell that was known by Russian intelligence two decades ago....

...a short way into his remarks, the Russian President stated for the first time publicly something that Russian intelligence has known for almost two decades but kept silent until now, most probably in hopes of an era of better normalized Russia-US relations.

Putin stated that the terror in Chechnya and in the Russian Caucasus in the early 1990’s was actively backed by the CIA and western Intelligence services to deliberately weaken Russia. He noted that the Russian FSB foreign intelligence had documentation of the US covert role without giving details.

In 1946 Gehlen is transferred to the U.S. with part of his staff, another part stays in Germany. In the words of a CIA analyst: after the Nazis' return they work "first under U.S. Army and later CIA trusteeship, then [1956] accepted by Bonn as the BND."[5]

Short and to the point. How German intelligence was folded into US intelligence right after WWII, down to how the creation of the BND under Gen. Gehlen's leadership, and how BND was recently exposed as a tool of NSA and the CIA.

These people operate iaw national choice theory, assuming no law and no morality or ethics. The only criterion is loyalty. Decisions are made based on the ration of potential reward to the risk of being caught and exposed. The agents themselves know they are basically immune from both identification and prosecution. This is why nothing was done with the recent exposure of CIA torture.
