Sputnik International — Russia Confirms A321 Brought Down by Terrorist Explosive Device

An explosion of the homemade bomb of up to 1kg of TNT equivalent was the cause of the A321 crash in Sinai, Russian Security Service (FSB) head Alexander Bortnikov said.

“According to our specialists’ assessment, a homemade explosive device with an equivalent of 1 kilogram of TNT on board the aircraft exploded, which lead to the plane 'breaking up' in midair, which would explain the scattering of the plane’s fuselage across a wide area,” Bortnikov said during a meeting.
Russian Special Forces have determined the A321 passenger jet that crashed over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on October 31 killing all 224 on board was a terrorist act.

Who profits? I'm sure Pepe Escobar is on the case I'll stand by for his forthcoming in depth article.....

Any chatter on the left that this might have been a false flag by Russia FSB?

The one who can find info on the perpetrators is going to profit, 50M bounty, not bad...

Maybe the stack is so hight because they will never find (false flag) ;)

The chatter I am hearing is that if it was either a false flag or seized as an opportunity by planting a false passport, it was about ending immigration into Europe to counter the rising clout of rightist parties, like Le Pen in France.

As far as I can see, there is no Cui bono? that points to Russia, although I'm sure someone will concoct a narrative. Maybe its out there but I haven't seen any report of it.

Same price as was on Bin Ladin's head.

Sounds like an stupid strategy, those acts of terror do not hurt anti-immigration parties, quite the contrary.

If they are betting on stopping the raise on the long run they better look at the economy, but that would be sacrilege for neoliberals, as most of the raising support is for reversing globalization, of which anti-immigration is just a part of the package.

If this were true neoliberals are more desperate than I thought.

Pepe on the same page as Trump on the oil trucks.

Pentagon just announced blowing up a hundred plus oil trucks. Apparently they were worried the drivers might get hurt.

I spoke too soon.. Here it is from Ukraine.

Russian trace in Paris bombing theory not as crazy as you might think by Mychailo Wynnyckyj, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Kyiv-Mohyla Business School, Director of the Doctoral School, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

For those (like me) who believe World War Three began with the annexation of Crimea, and that it will end with the disintegration of Russia (along the lines of WWI beginning in the provincial city of Sarajevo, but resulting in the disintegration of the Habsburg Empire), the Paris bombings, tonight’s escalation in the Donbas, and the inevitable intensification of military action in Syria – inevitably to be followed by more IS bombings in the West in the future– are all events in a continuous narrative that humanity has been dragged into by a little madman in the Kremlin. Clearly IS is an autonomous actor in this war, but as was the case in previous global conflicts, adversarial lines are rarely two dimensional – Russia is an antagonist for whom the destruction of US hegemony and a weakened EU are means to its own perceived (re)assertion as a global actor, and for whom the use of IS terrorists as instruments for achieving these goals is an absolutely legitimate strategy of geopolitical realpolitik. For those of us in Europe this is a somewhat uncomfortable position. However, to seek comfort in an alliance with one’s ultimate enemy would clearly be shortsighted.

The excuse that the US has been making about not hitting ISIS hard where it hurts has been "civilian casualties." Really. And the US has been criticizing Russia for collateral damage (without providing evidence).

@whaaaaat!?

Up until now, they refrained from bombing the oil trucks for fear of civilian casualties. But don't worry because this time they dropped leaflets in advance.

If only Jihadi John had known he would have driven around in an oil truck.

I,

The ISIS thing is 100% Obama he didnt inherit anything there.... so its like sending one of the intelligensia to do the job of a warrior.... not qualified... all f-ed up... "shoot the tires!"

Looks like they are getting it together finally but not until after 100s of casualties in Paris...

also imo the right isnt clean here either they think "we're out of money!" just as much as the left and have gone hard over to SOF vice Conventional Forces... if the SOF approach even ever works it would leave alot of people scratching their heads to make sense of a lot of things they observe along the way too... I dont think it really works but they will never admit it either....

We'll see what happens when the Truman SG gets on station in a while... Russia wants in on the ass kicking as well now ... should just let them handle air security they are already there with that.... we'll see .... I dont trust any of these "we're out of money!" morons...

I'm not getting this intelligensia/ warrior thing.

Isn't the warrior just the jackass doing the intelligensia's dirty work for him?

I think this division of society into Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra is something of a more ‘modern political ring-in’. Social divisions would not interest those who wrote down the Rig Veda. The original more likely had to do with the general locus of the indwelling consciousness: either in the physical world, the emotional world, the mental world, or the world of the heart from whence every human consciousness sets out on the last leg home.
