Abby Martin: The Rise of History's Biggest Empire

The US props up dictatorships around the world and suppresses democracy. It have filled the world with thousands of military bases and has started many wars but its civilians get no say in any of this. Many conservatives say taxes are too high but the amount of money spent on the military dwarfs anything else and none of it is accounted for.  The tax payer forks out and the ruling class get their empire and cheap oil. And The ruling elite make $billions out of military spending too. It's a rachet run by a criminal cartel.

Ben Griffin former British SAS soldier says all empires are violent. He sees the US as Nazi Germany and the UK as Austria. He joined the army thinking he would be fighting the bad guys, but then he found out he was on the side of the bad guys.

The US military also causes massive amounts environmental damage. And also shown here is the revolving door between top military officials and the armament industry, all part of the criminal cartel. The death machine which started with the genocide of the native Americans and then afterwards along with the UK it made it profits from the 400 year slave trade where millions died. This is how most of the Western elite made their money, not by capitalism or hard work.

War is a Racket by Smedley Butler

An actor reproduces Smedly Butler's speech.

War is a Racket by Smedley Butler is a famous speech denouncing the military industrial complex. This speech by two-time Congressional Medal of Honor recipient exposes war profits that benefit few at the expense of many. Throughout his distinguished career in the Marines, Smedley Darlington Butler demonstrated that true patriotism does not mean blind allegiance to government policies with which one does not agree. To Hell with war
