Alexander Mercouris — The attempted Clinton-CIA coup against Donald Trump

Last ditch effort to dump Trump in the electoral college vote.

They had better hope they win, because Trump prides himself on getting even.
Perhaps given that the political situation in Washington is starting to bear the hallmarks of what in other countries would be called a pre-coup environment, it is not so surprising if Donald Trump is choosing to surround himself with generals.
Incidentally, this accords with Ravi Batra's analysis in The New Golden Age: The Coming Revolution Against Political Corruption and Economic Chaos.

Ravi Batra, the guy who predicted "The Great Depression of 1990"? Is he still a thing?

He did predict the fall of Communism then, too. That was in 1978 when everyone thought he was crazy.

HIs theory did not account for how it happened, however, so it was a lucky prediction from that POV.

His analysis of the fall of capitalism is possibly more prescient with the ascent of Donald Trump as "swamp drainer." This is consistent with his analysis, or at at least can be seen so.

BTW, although Batra is an economist, his predictive device is a theory of history from his mentor, P. K. Sarkar, called the law of social cycles. This is what I find interesting, although I would say it is much more a hypothesis than a law and proving it to be a law involves a lot of interpretation and curve fitting.

The reason I find it interesting is that it is class-based, with a theory of social classes — 1) warrior class, based on rule and organization, 2) intelligentsia class, based on knowledge, 3) acquisitor class, based on wealth accumulation, and 4) laboring class, based on work for hire.

Note that as an economist, Batra is out of paradigm with MMT.

P. K. Sarkar should be P. R. Sarkar.

Sarkar was the founder of PROUT, or progressive utilization theory, as an alternative to capitalism and communism. It's worth a look.
