Awara — From October 5 to 28 Employers Are Obliged to Transfer at Least 30% of Employees to Remote Work. The Transfer Must Be Reported at mos.ru Website.

From October 12, 2020, every Monday employers must submit to the Moscow Mayor’s Office a report on remote employees and those who are going to work in the usual mode. Information is sent through the personal account of the legal entity or IE on the website mos.ru.
Interesting that government is mandating this, due to the pandemic, but it is a n-brainer for other reasons. Who needs commuting anyway. Wasted time and also wasted energy increasing pollution.

Digital is likely here to stay once firms and employees get used to it.

A friend of mine at a big bank was telling me that top level officers were meeting via video rather than in person. That was a long time ago, when it actually seemed novel and the set-up was very expensive. Times have changed.

This person was a project manager. None of his team worked from the office to which he commuted daily through city traffic. Management tried to get him to work from home for some time since going to the office was unnecessary, but he resisted, not sure he could handle it. He finally bit the bullet and loved it.

Now, necessity is the mother of invention and it promises to change work as we know it, although it is not practical for every job. But even physicians are now seeing patients online for treatment that doesn't require personal contact.
