Is a Cure for COVID-19 Already Sold at a Pharmacy Near You? Some Experts Believe So

Around the world, evidence mounts that vitamin D can protect against infection by COVID-19 and ease the virus' symptoms, but the medical establishment isn't convinced. Is it time to think outside the box?

It's behind a paywall, but the heading is good enough.

You should publish the article as quickly as possible,” I was advised by Dr. Shaul Lev, who heads the general intensive care unit at Hasharon Hospital in Petah Tikva, and chairman of the Israel Society for Clinical Nutrition, at the conclusion of our interview. “Every week of delay in publishing this information can result in thousands of unnecessary infections, some of them serious and even fatal. It can save lives.”

  1. You know, if you have a vitamin D deficiency you probably have other vitamin deficiencies as well. I am saying this because our food is well fortified with vitamins in North America. If anything, we have too much.

Anyway, taking vitamins can do no harm... unless it's a fat soluble vitamin and you're taking too much, like vitamin D. So be careful and pop those tablets/soft gels accordingly :)

PS: K, how come no articles on "demon sperm" and covid-19?

  4. Ditto what Greek said

As I understand it, levels of vit D were measured from samples of hospitalized COVID patients and there was a relationship between severity of disease as well as mortality and Vit D levels. Not surprising. Vit D is important for proper function of immune system. Calling it a cure is obviously wrong.

  5. @ Greg

What do you think of this?

Every adult should take 10,000 IU of vitamin D per day, except the elderly, who should take twice that amount — 20,000 IU/day — due to their greater risk of dying from Covid and their lower absorption of vitamin D.

Vitamin D reduces risk of ICU admission 97%

  6. Vit D supplements have been recommended for years . Especially for those over 50-60 I should probably start taking them but I think my dietary intake and my regular sunnexposure probably suffices. I have never even checked my levels but I think I will start. My wife has regularly for last decade.

  7. Vitamin D is added to milk. I doubt I'm getting 10 grand.
