Battology:
1. Continual unnecessary reiteration of the same words, phrases, or ideas.
2. A needless repetition of words in speaking or writing.
"7 Now, in praying, you should not use useless repetitions (battologesete) even as those of the nations. For they are supposing that they will be hearkened to in their loquacity. 8 Do not, then, be like them..." Mat 6:7-8
So to now quote the morons:
Fiscal cliff... Fiscal cliff... Fiscal cliff... Fiscal cliff... Fiscal cliff... Fiscal cliff... Fiscal cliff... Fiscal cliff...

spot on !
toothy cheeky cows have gone simply batty
Goog,
Right maybe that is where we get "batty"...
and interesting that you equate them to cows who keep their mouths moving constantly with nothing coming out...
rsp,
Matt, the interesting thing here is 'how much' empirical evidence is needed before real truth is accepted.
IMO we are against one of the most powerful mass cognitive dissonances ever, probably reinforced by the fact that is a widely socially accepted lie.
I think western developed nations are not ahead in accepting this fact, but other places where necessity has enforced authorities to take control and self-finance themselves will come out first of the wrong paradigm.
Ignacio,
It looks like truth is always there but it gets "covered" for some people... then somehow it gets "uncovered" for them...
I think all of this happens thru certain language techniques and patterns of some sort...
Looks like repetition is involved, and false metaphor... other than that I havent been able to come up with much more...
These language techniques and the resultant effect on the human brain may be as complicated as how the biology of for instance the Cholera bacterium operates related to the Cholera epidemic parallel Steve Roth saw... from the wiki on cholera:
"The cholera toxin (CTX or CT) is an oligomeric complex made up of six protein subunits: a single copy of the A subunit (part A), and five copies of the B subunit (part B), connected by a disulfide bond. The five B subunits form a five-membered ring that binds to GM1 gangliosides on the surface of the intestinal epithelium cells. The A1 portion of the A subunit is an enzyme that ADP-ribosylates G proteins, while the A2 chain fits into the central pore of the B subunit ring. Upon binding, the complex is taken into the cell via receptor-mediated endocytosis. Once inside the cell, the disulfide bond is reduced, and the A1 subunit is freed to bind with a human partner protein called ADP-ribosylation factor 6 (Arf6).[13] Binding exposes its active site, allowing it to permanently ribosylate the Gs alpha subunit of the heterotrimeric G protein. This results in constitutive cAMP production, which in turn leads to secretion of H2O, Na+, K+, Cl−, and HCO3− into the lumen of the small intestine and rapid dehydration. The gene encoding the cholera toxin is introduced into V. cholerae by horizontal gene transfer. Virulent strains of V. cholerae carry a variant of temperate bacteriophage called CTXf or CTXφ."
I believe this exemplifies the complexities involved as to what is going on cognitively in human brains, but the process does not operate thru chemistry but it somehow operates thru language...
