According to a New York Times report this evening, President Obama told House Democrats tonight that Republicans are demanding everything up to his presidency in order to end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling.
“The only thing not on their list is my own resignation,” Obama told Democrats, a member of Congress who attended the meeting told the Times. The paper also reported that Obama told the group that “if he gives in now, Republican demands would be endless."Democrats still haven't figured out that you bring a gun to knife fight. They have no vision, no plan, and no spine.

Or he could propose to default next Wednesday rather that the Gop's Thursday?

I think he is probably as disgusted as most of the rest of us are. "Most of the rest" = all the sane people.

The GOP is crazy, but the Dems are zombies. Will we be ruled by crazies or by zombies?
Actually, they should cut a deal. Mr. Obama, please offer to resign, if all the GOP House will resign as well, simultaneously.
Then hold special elections, right now, to look for saner, more operationally aware citizens.
